Home Support Program
Carer Support’s Home Support Program is for people aged over 65 (or 50 years and over if Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background) who need a small amount of assistance with daily tasks in order to continue to live independently at home.
We can also provide funding for centre based day care sessions, including support from a care worker to help you use the day care centre services if you need, providing taxi vouchers, or accompanying you to your destination.
If you can answer YES to the following statements then you should be eligible for our services:
- I live in the South or East Metro areas of Adelaide, South Australia
- I am over 65 (or over 50 if of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background)
- I am currently living with ill-health and/or physical limitations
- I do not live in a nursing home.
Cleaning, Home Maintenance, Safety Monitoring $11.00 /hour
Shopping, Banking or Social Support $11.00 /hour
Transport – Personal $3.00 /trip

‘On the Buses’ Social Outings
For carers and care recipients over 65 years of age (or over the age of 50 for those who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander).
Carer Support is committed to helping seniors over the age of 65 (or over the age of 50 for those who
identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander) by providing opportunities for social connection through our On the Buses outings.
One bus trip is scheduled to depart from each Carer Support Centre every month and each one offers the chance to go somewhere different, meet new people and have a good laugh.
Cost: subsidised at $11.00 (includes bus trip and lunch)
Time: 11am – 2:30pm (transport to centres can be arranged if required)

Flexible Respite Program
Carers looking after someone over the age of 65 (or over the age of 50 for those who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander) can access flexible respite with a subsidised client contribution.
The Flexible Respite Program offers approximately 1.5 hours of in home respite per week, over 12 months, with a contribution of $11.00 per hour.
The person you care for must first be assessed by the Regional Assessment Service (RAS) or Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) and receive approval for flexible respite. If you have been issued with a referral code from the RAS or ACAT for flexible respite, please give us a call so we can help you access your approved flexible respite service.
