The introduction of the NDIS not only changes the way that individuals will access support services in the future, but it may also have an impact on the way that carers access supports. Carer Support has therefore introduced a range of new services to help carers and their families prepare for and transition into the NDIS to ensure that both participants and carers get the most out of an NDIS plan.

Getting to know the NDIS: Group information sessions

We provide free group information sessions about the NDIS for all interested families at each of our centres*. These sessions cover a range of topics including what the NDIS is, the responsibilities of NDIS planners, how individuals can check their eligibility, how to navigate the NDIS website and how to best prepare for a meeting with an NDIS planner.

Our group information sessions run from 9:30am to 12pm with the opportunity to stay and talk one-to-one with a staff member until 12:30pm. Our upcoming dates and locations are outlined below.

Preparing for NDIS entry: Dedicated one to one support

For carers of potential NDIS participants (under 65 years of age) we can also provide free one to one advice and support so that they can understand and prepare for NDIS entry.

Managing your plan: NDIS fee for service program

Carer Support is a registered provider to participants of the NDIS, Adelaide-wide. Our NDIS Your Way program provides fee for service plan management and support coordination to families with an NDIS plan. We have a team of individuals with years of experience who can take care of the time-consuming financial, administrative and coordination responsibilities to help guide participants and their families towards managing their plans more independently.
