Young adult carers
18-25 and caring for someone in the family? Finding it hard to catch up with friends, juggle course work or find a job?
You're not alone
Carer Support is here to help you handle the stress, get your life back in balance and create the right future for you.
We’ll invite you to social activities so you can take time out and make new friends who are carers, too.
Someone to talk to
If you need to get things off your chest, we’re here to listen.
We can help to relieve the pressure and make sure you don’t miss out on creating a life and identity of your own.
We’ll guide you through the support that’s available to you and refer you to services, so it’s easier to handle with your caring role.
We can also talk to college, uni or work to make sure they understand your responsibilities at home and how they can help you cope.
Taking care of yourself
We can help you learn ways to look after yourself, get better at handling stress and enjoy the present moment.
You'll also gain the confidence you need to make the most of your future.
We’ll work with you to explore what job, trade or profession appeals to you, help you create a resume, apply for jobs or training, get your licence, and more
Time out with new friends
Groups of 18-25-year-olds get together for nights out and exclusive retreats — perfect for recharging your batteries and discovering new places, skills and sensations.
There are heaps of opportunities to meet and make lifelong friends with other young adults who ‘get-it’.
How much will it cost?
Don’t worry about affording all these activities and support.
Everything we do is low cost or no cost thanks to funding from state and federal governments and funds raised by our generous supporters.
How do I get support?
If you live in south or east Adelaide, you’re between 5 and 17 and you care for someone, it’s as easy as registering a few of your details with us.
